In February, the RTR Conference in Brussels hosted the session “Urban Mobility – Cities as Urban Hubs and Urban Logistics”. This session provided a platform to discuss some of the most promising urban mobility projects, including MOVE21, and brought together key stakeholders to explore the future of urban logistics.
The session featured a presentation by Tiina Ruohonen, who shared the achievements and expected medium to long term impacts of the MOVE21 project. In addition to MOVE21, the session highlighted contributions from the sister project SCALE-UP and recently completed projects such as LEAD and ULaaDS. The session was moderated by Yannick Bousse, CINEA (European Executive Agency for Climate, Infrastructure and Environment) and Ivo Cré, POLIS Network.
The session highlighted the importance of understanding the full practical implications of urban mobility regulations for both operators and public authorities. Neglecting these implications can have a negative impact on both parties and distort the intended benefits of these projects.
Participants gained insights into the actions implemented by these projects and engaged in discussions with European stakeholders on the successes and challenges in road transport. The session highlighted the need for continued collaboration and innovation in urban mobility to achieve sustainable and efficient logistics solutions.
